We are looking for an accomplished PHP developer who has a genuine passion for web development. It is also essential that you demonstrate excellent communication skills and are comfortable in an environment where you contribute ideas.

Reporting to the Development manager, the ideal candidate will have commercial experience in Website / Web Application development using PHP and solid front end coding skills using HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

The successful candidate you will be responsible for working on new and existing websites where you will work very closely with the business. Your core skills and technical knowledge will be challenged and enhanced throughout the software development life cycle.

The Opportunity

We are currently looking for an experienced Software Developer to work as part of our dedicated development team in Dublin, developing interactive communications solutions.

Reporting to the Development manager, the ideal candidate will have excellent design and programming skills and a good understanding of how to use them to deliver quality user-friendly software while working on their own or in small teams. Research and development in new areas of technology will often be required, so a keen interest in constantly adapting and developing your skill set will be very important.

Responsibilities

• Developing high quality, efficient code to meet business needs
• To design and develop websites ensuring strong optimization and functionality
• To take ownership and provide expertise to the business in the products you develop
• To assist in the planning of overall company policy regarding search engine optimisation and web development
• Liaise with the IT department to release software to our production environments
• Testing the website and proactively identifying any technical problems and issues
• Researching and proposing appropriate new technologies to meet business challenges
• Developing websites with high levels of usability targeting specific audiences Determining functionality that the site must support and developing PHP content based on practical approved layout
• To monitor technical performance and enhance as appropriate.
• Work on projects including web layout enhancements, website enhancements, web-based applications and database- backed websites.
• Analyse, review and modify web systems by maintaining, documenting, testing, developing and monitoring.

Requirements

• 4+ years developing object-oriented PHP code
• Experienced in full lifecycle web-based development : designing, building, implementing and optimising
• Demonstrable experience with PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery MySQL, AJAX , Linux, Apache
• Good communication skills are key, with the ability to translate technical plans and ideas into language that non-technical people can understand.
• Create clean and efficient code
• You must be thorough and precise in your work
• Desire to stay updated on current and new technologies and its effects to the business environment.
• You must be able to operate effectively in a team atmosphere within a fast-paced development schedule.
• Experience in developing websites or web applications for mobile devices is desirable

Education & Qualification

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar
