We are looking for an accomplished PHP developer who has a genuine passion for web development. It is also essential that you demonstrate excellent communication skills and are comfortable in an environment where you contribute ideas.

Reporting to the Development manager, the ideal candidate will have commercial experience in Website / Web Application development using PHP and solid front end coding skills using HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

The successful candidate you will be responsible for working on new and existing websites where you will work very closely with the business. Your core skills and technical knowledge will be challenged and enhanced throughout the software development life cycle.

The Opportunity

We are currently looking for an experienced Software Developer to work as part of our dedicated development team in Dublin, developing interactive communications solutions.

Reporting to the Development manager, the ideal candidate will have excellent design and programming skills and a good understanding of how to use them to deliver quality user-friendly software while working on their own or in small teams. Research and development in new areas of technology will often be required, so a keen interest in constantly adapting and developing your skill set will be very important.

Responsibilities

• Participating in the full project life cycle. You will be involved in the analysis, design, development, testing and documentation of software products
• Communicating and documenting functional specifications and technical designs
• Developing high quality, innovative applications for use by the company and our clients
• Maintaining new and existing code
• On-going development of our core libraries
• Collaborating with other members of our development team and product managers
• Research and development of new technologies
• Participating in quality and process improvement initiatives
• Contributing to project plans and providing status updates to the Project Manager

Skills & Experience required

• 5+ years development experience
• Excellent C programming skills
• Software design experience
• Good experience using MySQL, LINUX
• Experience of the full Software Development Lifecycle
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Must be able to work in a dynamic environment, under short deadlines
• Ability to take technical ownership of projects and work autonomously or in a team environment
• Ability to rapidly grasp new technologies and concepts
• Can contribute to technical standards definition and on-going process improvement activities
• Degree in Computer Science or related discipline
• Python skills desirable but not essential
• Experience in the Telecommunications sector (SMPP etc.) an advantage but not required

Education & Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline
